Unapologetic: How choosing myself set me free

For a long time, my life appeared "right" on the outside, yet I felt completely empty within. The relentless twelve-hour nursing shifts and the numbing haze brought on by alcohol left me more than just exhausted-- I was disappearing. I realized I couldn't truly help others while I was falling apart inside. Overcoming alcohol became more than quitting a habit; it was the moment I awakened to my own potential. With this realization, I have made the decision to trade my stethoscope for the soul-work I was always meant to do. If you find yourself stuck in a cycle of being "fine" while your spirit cries out for more, listen to that inner voice. You are not bound to a story you didn't write. I am finally choosing myself, and now I am more ready than ever to see what the future holds.

To launch 2026 and this new chapter in my life, I have created something meaningful. I made these T-shirts with a simple message: FREEDOM. TO me, freedom means choosing yourself over old habits and your passion over your paycheck. But, in truth, freedom can mean anything--freedom from people pleasing, freedom from a toxic relationship, or freedom from repeating the same patterns that have always existed within your family. Whatever freedom means for you, that is what matters most. When you wear this shirt, let it be a reminder that your story isn't finished yet and that you hold the pen. This "FREEDOM" design is the first heartbeat of a much larger project close to my heart.

I am currently working on my second memoir, also titled Freedom. In its pages, I dive deep into the chapters of my life I once kept hidden: the breaking point of a nursing career that nearly destroyed my mental health, the uphill climb to sobriety, and the complex journey of reconciling with my deceased parents. It's a powerful rebuttal to the idea that we are stuck with the hand we're dealt.

Coming soon--stay tuned for the updates on the release.
